| My amp of choice...the Randall RM100M is part of the MTS series of amps.
It features modular preamps which are interchangable so you can cutomise the 3 channels to how you would like the amp to sound. The modules cover a very wide range of amp styles from clean channels (Blackface modules and the Clean Module) to high gain preamps (e.g. the Bogner XTC module and the Ultra module). It truely is a remarkable peice of equipment and sounds as good as it looks. The preamps are faithful to the amps which they are modeled on and the power amp section adds the low end grind and kick which will knock walls down. The amp has a number of stunning features such as a Density control on the front panel as well as a Presence control. There are two effects loops, one Parallel and one Series. The level for the Parallel loop is controlled from the front panel. There are Biasing point for each power tube as well as fuses for each tube so that if one blows the rest still work. The amp even has a cooling fan on the chassic to been the heat down! Randall's attention to details and the build quality if spectacular to say he least. At the moment I am using the Mr. Scary, Brahma and Clean modules in the amp. Each of them have very individual characters. The Clean channel is very warm sounding and chimy. It works great with any pickup configuration and has a lot of headroom. The Mr. Scary and Brahma preamps are George Lynch signature modules. George has an incredible ear for tone and these modules do his sounds justice. Mr. Scary is a blast from the late 80s and early 90s with a sumptuous high gain moddified Marshall sound whereas the Brahma is George's take on the '68 Marshall 1959SLP "Plexi" amp. Enjoy!!! |

The Palmer PGA-04 is a load box and cab simulator. The Palmer is used in studios worldwide and by many, many artist (George Lynch, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani...to name a few...) and is a pretty amazing unit. I've used it for a lot of my recordings. I have an iso room in my studio now so it doesn't get used as much as it use to.
